The adjudicator reviews policy coverage details and contacts the person reporting the claim with the requirements. Additional documents are requested if the claim falls within the contestable period.

The adjudicator evaluates all collected information and determines a claims decision.
Claims for policies under two years old are referred to as contestable claims. This involves a routine investigation of the insured’s health history prior to policy issuance, which is an industry-wide practice. Most claims are approved.
